Youtube Made Me Do It – NYC Sunny Bronzer

Or to give it its full title: NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in 720A Sunny. I prefer Sunny Bronzer personally. Every so often a product is used so much by so many people that I watch on Youtube that eventually I break down and but it. This product isn’t available in the UK as far as I know so I turned to eBay where I paid the princely sum of £3.54 inc postage and packaging.

I have seen this being touted as a fantastic matte contour shade for pale skin. I know that I do not need any more matte bronzers but I just couldn’t help myself! And for that price I’m not going to feel guilty. The packaging does give it away as a budget product. You do get a nice big mirror but it feels incredibly flimsy. I’m already worried that the hinge it going to snap on me. When I first got it out of the packaging there was a very strong plastic smell but it seems to have faded. But you do get a whopping 9.4g of surprisingly high quality product so I’m going to ignore the packaging.

The powder is very soft and quite pigmented so despite the light shade you do need to use a light hand with it. It blends in well though. It actually has a slight hint of a reddish tone to it which stops it from going in any way orange on my skin. It’s the kind of shade my skin actually goes if I’ve been in the sun. As a contour on me it looks very natural and effective. Used all over to give the skin warmth it can look a touch ruddy on me but I never really use bronzer for that anyway.

I’ve been trialling this out for a few weeks using it quite heavily but I haven’t even worn away the sun design on the powder. I think it’s fab value for money! X

  1. i don't know how to wear a bronzer. I might have only 2 bronzers at home somewhere but they are not matte. I need this in my life as I really want to get into bronzers and this might be the thing which will (with a bit of practice) make me more bronzed and confident xx

    1. To be honest I'm only just getting to grips with bronzer myself. I tend to just use it in the classic '3' motion to contour. I head over heels in love with my fake tan though which ?I did not expect! x

  2. Hi Claire, This sounds interesting. I will keep an eye out for it at Superdrug in the hope it finds it's way to this country.
It looks a nice cool coloured bronzer in the swatch.

    1. I've never spotted it in the UK but fingers crossed they do release it here! It's annoying having to look on eBay for it x

    1. It's not my favourite bronzer but for the price it is pretty darn good. I really like using it! (Just not the packaging so much but again for the price I can't complain) x
