40 Beauty Questions Tag

I saw this tag over at lovelipstickandlaughter and thought it looked like fun. So here we go!

SKINCARE -
How many times do you wash your face daily?

I use a cream or oil cleanser to remove my makeup at night and then wash it with an actual face wash. I just use a toner in the morning to get rid of oil build up before applying my makeup. I know some people will think this is sacrilege but it’s what works for my skin!

What skin type do you have? (dry,oily,combo) 

Combination. It’s incredibly oily on my nose but normal to dry everywhere else.

What is your current facial wash?

Witch Oil Control Foaming Face Wash.

Do you exfoliate? 

Yes, a couple of times a week with a scrub.

What brand do you use?

All sorts. I’m not loyal to any one brand.

What moisturizer do you use?

At the moment I have a few on the go. Again I’m a brand tart.

Do you have freckles? 

No but I have a lot of moles.

Do you use eye cream? 

Yes.

Do you or did you have acne prone skin?

I get the occasional spot, mostly on my chin.  I wouldn’t say it’s acne though.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? 

Nope.

MAKE-UP
What foundation do you use? 

I currently own erm.... 18. Eek! I rotate through them all.

How about concealer? 

Again I have a few. For under my eyes I have Dior Skin Nude, MAC Select Moisture Cover and Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection. For the face I have a couple of ELF Mineral ones, ELF Complete Cover, a No7 trio and Benefit It Stick.

Do you know your undertone colour?

I’m pretty neutral with both pink and yellow in there. If I had to go either way I’m probably slightly warmer than I am cool.

What do you think of fake eyelashes?

Fabulous. I just wish my eyes were a bit bigger so I could carry them off a bit better.

Did you know that you are supposed to change your mascara every 3 months? 

Bullshit. Most of the ones I have have the little open pot symbol on them which tells you how long you should keep it for after opening. All of them say 6 months on them. I wouldn’t keep them any longer than that but I personally think the whole 3 month rule is a ploy to get us to buy more!

What brand of mascara do you use?

Whatever I have at the time!

Sephora or MAC?

I live in the UK so I don’t have access to Sephora. I don’t shop at MAC very often.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card? 

Nope.

What makeup tools do you use in makeup application? 

... brushes?

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes? 

Yes.

For the face? 

Yes.

What is your favourite eyeshadow (colour or shade)?

I couldn’t choose.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? 

Both.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner pencil? 

I’m long sighted but I’m not that bad. I don’t think I’ve ever managed that.

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? 

Pain in the arse to use.

Do you use mineral makeup? 

I have a couple of mineral foundations and concealers.

What is your favourite lipstick?

I couldn’t choose.

How about lipgloss? 

See above.

What is your favourite blush to use? 

I don’t really do favourites...

Do you buy your makeup on ebay? 

Very occasionally but I’m wary about fakes.

Do you like drugstore makeup? 
Yes.

Do you go to CCO's? (cosmetic company outlets) 

Occasionally. There aren’t any in Scotland but if I’m visiting family in England I might swing past Cheshire Oaks.

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? 
Yes.

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I don’t think so?

Name a makeup crime that you hate? 

One womans makeup crime is another womans favourite look. Looks that I personally wouldn’t wear include concealer nude lips and liner under the lower lashline without something on the waterline too. It just seems to drag the eye down to me but each to their own.

Do you like colourful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones? 

All of the above!

Which celebrity always has great make up?

I don’t really keep track of celebrities. I suppose Dita Von Teese has a signature style that I love.

If you could leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use?

Erm.... I wouldn’t?

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on?

Can and do. But not very often (as in maybe once a month).

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? 

I don’t think I’m going to be winning any pageants with or without makeup but I’m confident enough to wander about bare faced.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line?

No such thing. Every brand has it’s wins and it’s flops.

What do you think of makeup?

I think it has almost magic powers actually (I’m only being slightly sarcastic too). With clever makeup you can change the structure of your face, the shape of your eyes, you can age yourself or knock years off. It’s fun and harmless. The best thing about it? At the end of the day it all washes off. It’s never permanent so who cares if you make a mistake?
