Geurlain Terracotta Sun In The City Golden Glimmer Powder

I believe this is a new release for spring from Geurlain. I saw this on Pleasureflush and fell head of heels in love. This is a face and body highlighter and costs £43. Before you wince at the price bear this in mind. You get a huge 15g of the most beautiful, multi functional product that I have seen in a long time.

I will be honest though and say that I am a little disappointed with the packaging. This is my first Geurlain purchase and I was expecting something a little more special. The plastic case feels sturdy enough but it’s fairly light weight. I will forgive it the underwhelming packaging though as once you open it it reveals something beautiful...

Isn’t it gorgeous? The surface has undulating waves across it which along with the textured pattern gives it the look of an incredibly luxe piece of designer fabric. I’ve been using this all week now and the pattern is still intact.

The powder itself is dense and tightly packed. You can use a fluffy brush to achieve the subtlest day time glow or pack it on for a molten metal statement high light. This is pearly and metallic but never sparkly. It has the kind of refined sheen you normally only get with liquid highlighters. As well as using it as a highlighter I’ve enjoyed packing this on over a sticky eyeshadow base for a gorgeous lid colour.

Swatched more heavily on the left and somewhat blended on the right.

The shade won’t suit everyone. It is a yellow leaning gold with just the slightest hint of peach to it. Warmer skin tones will look glorious in this but those with pink undertones will need to use a very light hand.

Overall I’m incredibly impressed with my first foray into Geurlain. This is an investment piece that can be used in a variety of ways and I don’t see this ever running out. I’m in love!

  3. SO PRETTY!!! But I know this is too warm for me, but that's ok because I have their Cruel Gardenia highlighter and it's perfect for me! Guerlain is hurting my wallet at the moment too!
