Look of the Week: Where did all the colour go?

Ho hum. This week all I’ve been wearing is neutrals. I just haven’t felt up to colour for various reasons. In fact I’ve been so boring it’s been pretty much the same look for the last 10 or so days. Neutral eyes, neutral lips with a pop of Illamasqua Hussy on the cheeks to avoid looking like I’ve completely given up on colour. I suppose the plus side is I haven’t been getting so many funny looks at work but frankly I’m boring myself...

It’s entirely MAC on the eyes I’m afraid. All that Glitters on the lid (middle row second from right), Satin Taupe in the out corner (top row second from left), Kid in the crease (bottom row second from left) and Blanc Type (middle row far right) on the brow bone. Oh and Woodwinked (top row middle) underneath the lower lashline with a dark shimmery Inglot shade(middle row far left) to line the upper lashline. I used a brown Bourjois pencil on my waterline and Rimmel ScandalEyes mascara.

Behold, a deeply unflattering picture of my cheek! I’ve never shown a ‘cheek swatch’ of a blush and for good reason. There is no flattering way of doing it! But Illamasqua Hussy showed up pretty well here so I’m subjecting you to the picture. I’m actually wearing a Lancôme Blush Subtil highlighter over the top but these pictures were taken at 6:30 in the morning so you’ll forgive me for having forgotten to include it in the picture.

And finally my old faithful No7 Nude Rebellion on the lips with MAC Love Nectar (I loathe that name) lipglass over the top. The sticky lipglass formula means that it lasts pretty well which is always nice for the work day.

  1. Great look, All That Glitters and Satin Taupe are some of my favourites.
I hardly ever use colours any more, only along the bottom lash line with a neutral eye if I ever use it. I go for bright lips rather than eyes now.
