Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper

I took the opportunity to pick this up in the January in the Space NK sale for £7.50 which I think was half price. Sadly the first one that arrived had the cap wobbling about in the box and dried out product. Space NK were super quick and helpful about sending out a new one but the cap still doesn’t seem to quite shut properly (same problem I have with Benefit Powderflage) and you can see it starting to come away from the edges. I wonder if this is a general packaging fail rather than 2 isolated events... The second one is fine to use now but I doubt I will be able to get to the bottom of the pot before it’s dried out.

Packaging aside the product is an eyeshadow primer, designed to prevent fading and creasing, and sticky base rolled into one. It is apparently ‘moisture resistant’ and recommends that you remove it with a waterproof eye makeup remover. The product does feel a little tacky. The flesh toned shade seems to sheer out and becomes mostly colourless when you blend it in but it takes a little tugging on the lid to move it across the skin. I’m not sure how I feel about tugging on my eye lids like that... I know crepey eyelids are inevitable but I don’t want to do anything that might speed up the process!

Application issues aside it is a good primer. Shadows look bright and vibrant over it and I have had no creasing or fading whilst wearing this. So it works and is relatively inexpensive. I’m just not sold on the packaging or the texture... x

    1. As I say in the last paragraph it works pretty well as a primer, It's just not the one for me x

  3. I found this far too dry when I applied it and found it tugged, the same as you. I'm really not a fan of Lime Crime. It seems quite overhyped give the quality of the products and the packaging.

    1. The tugging is really annoying to be honest. I think their lipsticks look cute but I'm not familiar with the rest of the range x

  4. I prefer something which comes out of a tube, but this looks so cute xx

    1. Me too. There is no way I'll get this used up before it dries out in that pot! x
