Bourjois Délice de Poudre Bronzing Powder

Also known as how Claire overcame her fear of bronzer. Oh yes folks, I’ve been contouring! And just in time for Spring too! I’ve always associated bronzer with orange. I’m rather pasty (between MAC 15-20) with neutral undertones and for a good long while I’ve been embracing the pale. It’s sunscreen all the way for me but I decided this year I would conquer my fear of faux tan and bronzer and this was just the right product to start me off!

You get a rather generous 16g of product for £6.99 housed in cardboard packaging. Some people hate cardboard packaging I know but personally I don’t mind it and it feels relatively sturdy. The powder looks simply adorabubble and has a lovely sweet scent. It doesn’t smell like chocolate to me like it’s supposed to but it’s lovely nonetheless. Allegedly it has little ‘flecks of sunshine’ in it and whilst you can see a few gold sparkles in the pan these thankfully don’t transfer onto the face.

The powder is finely milled and blends nicely. It’s a soft muted bronze which doesn’t pull orange on me (unless you really pack it on). It’s perfect for a soft natural looking contour and it doesn’t look too obvious even on my pale skin. Unfortunately this means it probably wouldn’t be very effective on darker skin tones though.

Does anyone have any suggestions for other bronzers suitable for pale skin?

  3. Haha I know Lauren there have been a few posts on this recently which is what prompted me to try it. It's fab, especially for the price!

I kept looking at the Too Faced bronzers xSafarE but as you say they do look quite shimmery. I tend to steer away from shimmer in cheek products apart from highlighters because I have some larger pores I don't want to draw attention to. I'll have to take a peek at Harmony!

  4. For me, the best thing that didn't turn orange on my yellow/orange undertones was Everyday Minerals foundation in Sweet Almond.
Perfect contour, and no orange fakeness!

  5. I LOVE this bronzer, smells delicious and is really nice, I like the book look or bar of chocolate look. - I featured it on my chocolate inspired beauty products post. Reminds me to repurchase, thanks x

  6. I'm around an N15ish, maybe sometimes an N10 because the death look is cool right?! I really want to get the Too Faced chocolate bronzer, it's totally matte :) For now I use BeneFit Hoola, as it's matte, and then switch to MAC Golden or NARS Laguna for the summer as the shimmers are more glowy than sparkly :) Really want to try this Bourjois one too, great post :)

  8. I've been eyeing this up for a while as I need a new bronzer, although I would use it for contouring more than anything else, so I'm glad it's non-shimmery! xx

  9. Gone2RehabBRB - I've never tried anything from Everyday Minerals so if I get a chance to try the line i'll be sure to check it out :-)

Bettina@BeautySwot - Just out of curiosity how long did it take you to use up? I'm beginning to think I'll never reach the end of any of my powder products lol.

Kelly - I've looked at Hoola a few times but it always looked scarily dark in the pan to me. It you like it though it will probably be fine on my skin tone though. And thanks :-)

G A B Y - It smells as good as it looks haha. I don't often encourage people to sniff testers but it's worth it!

Sylvieee - you can clearly see the sparkles in the pan but I've never been able to detect them on my fave :-)

  10. if you can find it, GOSH bronzing powder in 02 (it's all one colour, not the ones with four strips) is quite light! I bought this a few weeks ago and it's already gone from my local GOSH stand so it might be hard to find...
