My mission to try all of the LUSH face masks continues with this strange little number. As usual you get 75g for £5.25 of goop that needs to be kept in the fridge. They say:
“For dry skin that needs a bit of extra TLC, you can't do better than a generous slathering of Oatifix. Oats and bananas are super-softening, and when you come to wash off the mask, you can use the ground almonds in Oatifix to give your skin a very light exfoliating scrub.”
This is a very thick sticky paste which smells exactly like flapjack. My skin has been very dry around my cheeks and forehead recently and I hoped that this might be a treat for it. Honestly though this is the first of these masks that I really haven’t liked. The mixture is so thick that it doesn’t stay on your face properly. You end up leaving a little oat trail around you. Ever seen the film Planet Terror? This makes you look like Bruce Willis in it.
After use I find that my skin isn’t dried out like it is after clay based masks but it doesn’t do anything for the congested parts. If you have very dry skin and aren’t’ t bothered by having a melting face this might be nice but for me it’s too much hassle for not enough gain. Next!

I've only tried Cupcake so far from the masks, but I feel it's a little greasy for the oily skin in which it's aimed at.
ReplyDeleteI love walking around the house with this mask on. I scare everyone =P But I love the smell of it, however I also don't think it does much for my skin.
ReplyDeleteAre there any masks you would recommend for dry skin? Glaswegian winter kills my skin. :(
ReplyDeleteFacefixers - I haven't tried that though it's next on my list! I have combination skin (oil slick nose and normal - dry elsewhere depending on the weather) so it will be interesting to see how it does. I found Cosmetic Catastrophe to be quite good on the oily bits.
ReplyDeleteMinte - lol it is pretty scary on! I couldn't walk round my flat with it on. I'd leave flap jack scented blobs in my wake!
Catriona - The Glasgow winter hasn't done me any favours either :-( This is the first winter that my dry bits have gotten dry enough to need some TLC, normally I'm too busy worrying about the oily bits! As such I haven't found a good moisturising mask yet but if I do I'll be sure to post it!

Oh yeah I get what you mean when a mask is too thick, that sucks )=
ReplyDelete"Like breakfast except on your face." That's hilarious! And yeah, that doesn't look like a mask at all.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't sound too good! I'm using Cosmetic Warrior and really like it though, good for oily/congested skins x
ReplyDeletebreakfast for your face lol :) my face is in some serious need of breakfast!
