There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the latest Sleek eye palette offering. These palettes of 12 shadows for a mind bogglingly cheap £4.99 have achieved cult status in the UK so when the limited edition iDivine palette was released earlier this month I read all the reviews and pottered on down to Superdrug at my earliest convenience. And I have to say I was.... Disappointed.
Don’t get me wrong. I don’t think there is anything wrong with the palette itself (apart from wishing they had stuck with the black packaging, the white just looks like it will get grimy) it’s just not for me. I wasn’t grabbed by any of the colours and there were a couple that frankly I just wouldn’t wear. It is clinically impossible for me to leave Superdrug without something though so I picked up two of the older palettes to see what the fuss was about. And I am speechless at the results. Why didn’t I buy these before? The formula is so, SO smooth especially on the shimmers. The pigmentation is divine, all of these swatches are one layer. Here we have the original and storm palettes. The original is first.
So if like me you are a makeup heathen and haven’t tried these but the iDivine just doesn’t grab you I would really recommend checking one of these two palettes out. The colours are much more wearable on the whole and the formula is great especially when you take into account the just how much variety you are getting for so few pennies.
